Senator John Thune made the following comments today regarding the passing of President Gerald Ford:
“Gerald Ford was a man who answered when his nation called. He was a war hero, distinguished Congressional leader, Vice President and President of the United States. He was selfless as he put the interests of the country first and for that he will serve as a shining example of what it means to be an outstanding American for generations to come. He provided true leadership when America needed it most. He was a decent and honest man and we mourn his death, but will always celebrate his life.”
