Academy Nominations

I take great pride in the opportunity to nominate the finest students from South Dakota to the United States Service Academies. Graduates of the Service Academies are leaders that have accepted the challenges of serving their country with honor.

Eligible applicants must be:

• unmarried citizens of the United States with no dependents and;
• at least 17 years old but not past their 23rd birthday on the first of July of the year they wish to be admitted and;
• a resident of South Dakota. You, or your parents, must claim South Dakota as your primary state of residence.

As a student interested in attending one of the Service Academies, there are a few things you must do.

First, contact the academy directly to open a pre-candidate file.

Next, fill out my Academy Application Form and furnish a copy of your high school transcript, ACT/SAT scores, and three letters of recommendation including a letter from your high school principal or guidance counselor together in one packet by November 1st to my Sioux Falls service office.
