Washington, D.C. —
Senator John Thune (R-S.D.), Chairman of the Senate Republican Conference, issued the following statement today regarding the third anniversary of the signing of ObamaCare:
“Three years after its enactment, the president’s health care legislation has proved to be a house of cards already beginning to collapse. Bipartisan majorities in both chambers of Congress have already rejected the law’s burdensome 1099 tax reporting provision, its failed CLASS Act entitlement program, and its job-killing medical device tax.
“One after another, the promises that were made about ObamaCare have been broken. Health insurance premiums are going up, not down; millions of Americans are set to lose the health insurance the president promised they could keep; and the bill’s promised $900 billion price tag is estimated to increase to $2.6 trillion. It’s time to repeal this broken legislation and replace it with real health care reforms that will give Americans access to the health care they need, from the doctor they choose, at a lower cost.”
