U.S. Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.) today issued the following statement after the Senate overwhelmingly approved the bipartisan National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), annual legislation that authorizes funding for the U.S. military and national defense.
“The NDAA is an important step forward in making sure our troops have the resources they need to protect Americans and are prepared to meet threats posed by major world powers like Russia and China or rogue nations like North Korea and Iran,” said Thune. “I’m glad the Senate was able to work together to pass this bill in a bipartisan manner, and I’m grateful for Senator Inhofe’s leadership on this legislation. As we look to getting this bill through conference and to the president’s desk, I will continue working to support our troops, including the South Dakota Army and Air National Guard, and readying Ellsworth Air Force Base for the future B-21 mission.”
