Senator John Thune announced today that the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has approved a $10,255 loan for the Oglala Oyate Woitancan Empowerment Zone– Medicine Root District. Rural Development funds will be used in conjunction with other financing, including a Rural Development Economic Initiative Grant to construct a fire hall.
“The USDA is acting to help finance a fire hall that will help protect people throughout Shannon County,” Thune said.
