U.S. Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.) today issued the following statement regarding the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ announcement that the economy added 312,000 jobs in December.

“Republicans came to Congress with a vision to help get the American economy back on track. Determined to make life better for the American people, we passed a historic reform of our tax code to put more money in American families’ pockets. We also passed regulatory reforms to make it easier for businesses to grow and create jobs. Today's strong jobs report shows our policies are working. We delivered on the promises we made, and I look forward to making more economic progress in the new Congress.”
