Washington, D.C. — 

U.S. Senator John Thune (R-S.D.) today announced that he will seek re-election for Chairman of the Senate Republican Conference, the third highest ranking Republican position. Thune has served as Conference Chairman since January of this year.

“America continues to face enormous challenges and the consequences have never been greater,” said Thune. “Our country is at a crossroads and communicating our positive Republican vision to grow the economy, create jobs, and restore our nation’s fiscal health couldn’t be more important. Senate Republicans have solutions and we will work hard to aggressively take our message directly to the American people.” 

Thune previously served as Chairman of the Senate Republican Policy Committee and as Vice Chairman of the Senate Republican Conference.
