Washington, DC —  Senator John Thune today met with Sioux Falls resident Donald Junck, who is being honored in Washington this week by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for filing the one millionth web-based trademark application using the Trademark Electronic Application System.

Mr. Junck presented Senator Thune with a personalized wooden version of his invention, the Bait Craft, a storage system for holding fishing leader lines.

"It's wonderful to have a South Dakotan honored on the national stage for his innovation and skill," Thune said. "I had the chance to meet with Mr. Junck in my D.C. office to discuss the Patent and Trademark Office's electronic filing system as well as his favorite fishing spots in South Dakota. Mr. Junck's filing is a good example of the South Dakota spirit of creativity and invention. I also hope it helps South Dakota anglers catch bigger fish."
