Washington, DC —  Governor Mike Rounds, Senator Tim Johnson, Senator John Thune, and Congresswoman Stephanie Herseth announced today that U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Undersecretary Jeff Shane will visit Huron on Tuesday, October 3, 2006, to hear from supporters of the DM&E rail upgrade project.

Members of the media are also invited to join Senators Johnson and Thune at 2:30 PM CT for a pre-event briefing with agriculture, business, and community leaders aboard one of the DM&E's business cars.

A community forum will be held at 4:00 PM CT at the Crossroads Convention Center in Huron followed by a press availability with Undersecretary Shane.
