Senator John Thune announced today that the U.S. Department of Agriculture awarded a $740,000 loan to the Northeast South Dakota Economic Corporation (NESDEC) in Sisseton, South Dakota.
The Rural Development funds will be used to assist the NESDEC in providing loans to clients who wish to start a business or expand an existing business.
“The NESDEC has been assisting individuals and businesses in Northeast South Dakota for over 27 years,” said Thune. “This loan will support their efforts to provide assistance to the economic development of the area. Many individuals and businesses will get the help they need to get on their feet or expand. I am proud to work with the Sisseton community to start new businesses and create jobs.”
