Obamacare’s Broken Promises Continue, Proposed South Dakota Rate Increases Spike to 36 Percent

“The proposed Obamacare rate increases show that the president’s law continues to be anything but affordable.”

U.S. Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.) issued the following statement after the release of proposed Obamacare rate increases for South Dakota for 2017:

“The proposed Obamacare rate increases show that the president’s law continues to be anything but affordable. Some plans have proposed rate increases as high as 36 percent,” said Thune. “That’s an incredible strain on South Dakota families, who are already struggling with stagnant wages and sluggish economic growth thanks to the Obama economy. With multiple years of dramatic rate increases, Obamacare continues to leave a legacy of broken promises. The Republican-led Senate sent an Obamacare repeal bill to the president’s desk that would have built a bridge away from the president’s broken law to a better health care system for hardworking families across our state.”
