Washington, D.C. —  The non-partisan Congressional Management Foundation today released the detailed results of their survey of all Congressional websites, where it was announced that Senator Thune's official website, www.thune.senate.gov, was ranked number one out of 99, making it the highest rated website of any individual Senator in the United States Senate. The top ranking earned Senator Thune's website the prestigious Gold Mouse Award.

The highest score Thune's website received was for "Timeliness of Content."

"It is important to me and my staff that South Dakotans are kept up-to-date about what's going on in the Senate and how it affects lives back home," said Thune. "I am always looking for feedback about how my website and all other forms of communication from my office can be improved, so I encourage South Dakotans to visit www.thune.senate.gov and let us know what you think."

The 2007 Gold Mouse Award marks the third time that Senator Thune's website has been recognized by the Congressional Management Foundation. Websites were graded on how well they incorporate five basic components: audience, content, usability, interactivity, and innovation.

"Senator Thune's website shows that he understands the value of creating a virtual office to reach specific audiences who have come to expect having their needs met online," said Beverly Bell, CMF's Executive Director. "The Congressional Management Foundation congratulates Senator Thune for having a website that is the best-of-the-best on Capitol Hill, and we are pleased to present Senator Thune with the 2007 Gold Mouse Award."
