Jobs and Economic Growth
Small businesses and individuals need a friendly economic climate to grow and create new jobs in their communities. In recent years, sluggish economic growth has led to a historically small workforce plagued by stagnate wages. Enacting more pro-growth policies would help grow our economy, create jobs, and increase wages. It also would lift the burden that the federal government has placed on businesses, small and large, and help more hard-working Americans thrive.
As chairman of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation and a member of the tax-writing Senate Finance Committee, I continue to work to ensure South Dakota’s small businesses, farms, and ranches are competing in an environment that encourages them to grow and create new jobs. I also believe Congress can do more to ensure the federal programs created to help small businesses are not only successful, but also operate in a manner that is cost effective.
