Washington, D.C. —
Senator John Thune today announced a grant worth over $200,000 for the South Dakota Department of Social Services, Office of Adult Services and Aging in Pierre, South Dakota.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services will award $212,542 through the State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP). SHIP is a national program that uses state directed grants to provide informational counseling, assistance, and public education programs regarding Medicare to recipients and their families.
“This grant will help supply South Dakotans with important information regarding Medicare,” said Thune. “It will provide a valuable resource for those with questions and concerns about Medicare and health insurance.”
