U.S. Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.) released the following video ahead of the 15th anniversary of the deadly terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and Flight 93.
Excerpts from Thune’s video:
“I remember talking to our youngest daughter, Larissa, and she had two questions on that day. She said, ‘Dad, are we safe?’ and ‘Are we going to get the bad guys?’ The answer to the first question obviously was, ‘Yeah, we’re safe,’ and the answer to the second questions was, ‘Yes, we’re going to get the bad guys.’“We enjoy tremendous freedoms – tremendous privileges – and incredible good fortune living in this country, and specifically living in South Dakota. And that doesn’t happen by chance, it doesn’t happen by accident. It happens because there are people out there every single day who are putting their lives on the line to make that possible.”
