Following the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to uphold portions of the Affordable Care Act, U.S. Senator John Thune (R-S.D.) issued the following statement:
“Prior to the passage of ObamaCare, Speaker Pelosi infamously said Congress had to pass the bill to ‘find out what is in it,’ and two years later Americans now know that ObamaCare is making things worse,” said Thune. “Worker health insurance costs have gone up 17 percent, family premiums have increased by $1,700, and small businesses and individuals throughout the country now face costly mandates and taxes.
“While today’s decision is disappointing, Congressional Republicans will not rest until ObamaCare is fully repealed. Rather than jam a nearly 3,000-page bill through Congress using political favors and backroom deals, as was the case with ObamaCare, Congressional Republicans are committed to working across the aisle in a step-by-step manner to improve and expand access to health care, while reducing costs for Americans.”
