Washington, D.C. —  Senator John Thune today announced that excess laptop computers from the United States Geological Survey/Earth Resources Observation and Science (USGS/EROS) office in Sioux Falls will be donated to South Dakota's tribal leaders. Senator Thune's office has been working with USGS/EROS to facilitate this donation.

"USGS/EROS has a history of working with South Dakota's tribal leaders to use excess computers and equipment to enrich the lives of students and others." said Thune. "With this latest donation of laptop computers, the tribal leaders will be able to communicate more efficiently. I am proud to participate in helping with this important project."

Previous donated equipment has gone to tribal schools, educational programs, tribal court systems, and various tribal organizations.
