Washington, D.C. —
Senator John Thune announced today over $1.5 million in loans to benefit two South Dakota communities.
The USDA Office of Rural Development has approved a loan of $560,000 to be given to the City of Brandon. Through the Community Facility Direct Loan program, Rural Development funds will be used to aid in the construction of a new fire hall.
Rural Development also approved a guaranteed loan of $1,095,000 to assist with the construction of a new fertilizer facility in the Delmont area. The funds are being lent to Agland Co-op of Parkston, SD through the Business and Industry Guaranteed Loan program.
“This federal assistance is critical to constructing these important projects,” Thune said. “I’m proud to work with the Administration on behalf of people in Brandon, Delmont and throughout South Dakota.”
