Washington, DC —  Senator John Thune today made the following comments regarding the passing of Eleanor McGovern:

"Eleanor and George McGovern are small town South Dakotans who enjoyed 63 years of marriage and many personal triumphs. Much of what Eleanor and George accomplished they accomplished together. All South Dakotans will remember Eleanor for her dedication to her four children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and to public service. We should all keep George and his family in our prayers."
