Washington, DC —
Senator John Thune today announced the United States Department of Agriculture has approved a $319,517 Distance Learning and Telemedicine Grant for South Dakota State University (SDSU).
"I'm pleased to announce this important funding for SDSU that will directly increase access to quality education through state-of-the-art means for thousands in rural South Dakota," Thune said.
SDSU will use this Distance Learning and Telemedicine Grant to provide enhanced educational opportunities through upgraded video-conferencing equipment, while increasing the number of video-conferencing sites in South Dakota to 30. This expanded network will serve hundreds of thousands of rural South Dakotans.
