U.S. Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.) today released the following statement after the announcement that Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) will deliver the Republican response to President Biden’s address to a joint session of Congress on April 28, 2021:

He is a rock-solid choice to deliver the Republican response to President Biden’s address, where I expect the president to call for even more wasteful spending and government growth than he has been able to secure in his first 100 days in office.”
