Washington, DC —  Senator John Thune praised the findings of a study sponsored by The Tax Foundation that ranked South Dakota's business-friendly tax climate the second best in the country.

"This is great news for South Dakota but not a surprise to the thousands of business owners across the state who take advantage of the business-friendly climate that has been created over the years," said Thune. "I am hopeful that companies will see the results of this study and realize that in addition to the quality way of life South Dakota provides its residents, it is also a great place for businesses. We have a highly trained and educated workforce and a tax and regulatory structure to allow businesses in South Dakota to make an impact around the globe. Keeping South Dakota at the top of this list remains a priority of mine as well as ensuring that businesses looking to relocate consider our state."
