Washington, DC —  Senator John Thune announced today that the United States Department of Education has approved a $769,911 grant for the Oglala Sioux Tribe-Pine Ridge Indian Reservation.

“These resources will go directly toward providing adequate transportation and quality job training for South Dakotans with disabilities,” Thune said. “This significant funding will be instrumental in helping these individuals channel their talents and start new, rewarding careers.”

These resources will enable the Oglala Lakota Nation Vocational Rehabilitation Agency to expand and improve its job training and development services for persons with disabilities. Over the past 10 years, this grant has helped more than 700 people undergo job training and become gainfully employed.
