Washington, D.C. —
Senator John Thune today issued the following statement in remembrance of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks:
"The terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 were a tragedy perpetrated by an enemy determined to destroy our nation and our way of life. I ask all South Dakotans to join me in remembering the loss of those who were killed, and in thanksgiving for the efforts of those who saved many lives that day. We hold the families who lost loved ones in our prayers, and we are grateful for the service of those who defend our nation from our enemies around the globe."
