WASHINGTON, D.C. —  Senator John Thune announced today that the United States Department of Education has approved a $425,000 grant for the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe.

“These resources will go directly toward providing quality vocational rehabilitation services for South Dakotans with disabilities,” Thune said. “This significant funding will be instrumental in helping these individuals channel their gifts and talents and start new, rewarding careers.”

These resources will enable the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribal Vocational Rehabilitation Project to provide vocational rehabilitation services to American Indians with disabilities so they may prepare for and engage in gainful employment, including self-employment, telecommuting, and business ownership.
